CRITERIA
Entries will be evaluated for architectural excellence based on the following considerations: The work should draw inspiration from the high desert and demonstrate creative sensitivity to its climate, topography, geology, vegetation and unique quality of light. Architectural solutions must demonstrate appropriate and artistic responses to the challenges of the site, client, users, program and budget. The work must be for a permanent rather than temporary or moveable construction. Projects must demonstrate the innovative utilization of available materials and technology, and adhere strictly to established principles of sustainability. The work must exemplify architectural uniqueness by way of original interpretation of the region's rich historical and cultural diversity.
